How Something New collects, uses and looks after personal information. Last updated 30 October 2026.
Something New Limited is a performance marketing agency in Auckland, New Zealand. This policy covers somethingnew.co.nz, our audit and reporting tools, and the internal software we use to run clients' ad accounts, including our Meta app. We follow the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Send any questions to Ross Jones at ross@somethingnew.co.nz.
We use it to reply to you, run the audit you asked for, book calls, and see which of our ads and pages work.
When a client gives us access to their ad account through Meta Business Manager, our internal tool uses the Meta Marketing API to create, edit, pause and report on that client's campaigns, ad sets, ads and creative. The reports it reads are totals such as spend, reach, clicks and purchases.
We use this data only to do the work the client hired us for. We don't sell it, we don't use it to build profiles of individual people, and we don't combine one client's data with another's. A client can remove our access at any time in Meta Business Settings, and our tool loses access as soon as they do.
We don't sell personal information. We share it only with the companies that help us run the business:
We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Some of these companies store data outside New Zealand, mostly in the United States. We only use providers whose privacy protections are comparable to New Zealand's, as the Privacy Act requires.
We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the reason we collected it, or longer if the law requires (tax records, for example). Reports and notes we make from a client's ad data are kept while we work together and deleted on request.
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email ross@somethingnew.co.nz. If you're unhappy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
Email ross@somethingnew.co.nz with the subject "Delete my data" and tell us the email address or ad account it relates to. We'll delete it within 30 days and confirm by email. Clients can also remove our access to their ad account in Meta Business Settings at any time.
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
